XMAS PARTY!!!

Jess got a nice little X-Mas party assembled this year. Lotsa cookies n treats, some good friends of ours + game night. Us guys had a little Golden Tee competition in the garage and the kids were playing darts, coloring and bangin on the drums. It was a lot of fun. There was an ugly sweater theme and a contest to the UGLIEST sweater in the bunch as voted by each person at the party [no you couldnt vote for your own]. Kristen won that I believe… but the guys wont his year on the overall as far as games were concerned. Better luck next year ladies 😉

makin Christmas gifts

I love how creative Jess can be with presents. Things were pretty tight this year and we didnt have a buncha free coin to go out and $pend a bunch on Xmas gifts… besides I think we have gotten away from all that. Might just be that 15 year old anti establishment punk rock kid coming out in me but I feel like this year I especially wasnt buying into all the hype. The “Black Friday” coverage was just annoying. LIKE WTF is Thanksgiving? cause there was very little media/news/ anything reporting on Thanksgiving of any kind and all this hype surrounded “Black Friday” “Small Business Saturday” and “Cyber Monday” it was sad really. So When XMAS finally rolls around [and we didnt buy into it] we have to get creative with gifts that mean something… not a buncha crap made from China that is NOT going to boost our economy, rather theirs.  THINK for a sec about this. CHINA manufactures nearly everything in walmart, so while the short term effect of a sale will go to pay an employee and whatnot, very little stays in our local economy. Essentially the retailer is a middle man… and I use Wal-Mart as an example cause they are the biggest around this time of year but it really can be said for most any large retail store to some degree. Cause lets be honest, the cost of manufacturing goods in the good ol USA aint cheap or getting cheaper. In order to compete the big boys move all their facilities out of the US.

Wow media, look what you and Wal-Mart made me just do!?  I cant even do a simple little blog post without getting all fired up. lol. Moving on, Jess and Avalon made these nice little pots with painted hand prints on them and planted succulents in them for the various family members… “from Avalon” with her personal touch. too cool.

Happy Halloween !!

One of my favorite holidays of the year! Jessicas too! It crept up on us sooooooo fast this year. I mean we had been planning for it for a while, getting costumes together and such. I had something really special in store for Avalon. I think Jess initially wanted to do her in some girly type thing…. ya know what? She has the whole rest of her life to do that. This was MY year [insert sinister laugh here]   and besides she was the perfect age/height to be one of my favorite horror flick characters. So I pitched Jess on the idea and she was on board. But before we get to all that dressing up stuff…

We took her to the Peltzer Farms Pumpkin Patch over by the Longshadow Ranch Winery. They had a little pumpkin patch they had brought in and set up around hay bails as well as a petting zoo and a corn maze. It was pretty cool.  Unfortunately the corn maze was more like a suburban maze. totally roped off so the paths were pretty clear and there was no way you could get lost…  oh well. Last year we went to a great corn maze at the feed store on the corner of Temecula Parkway, if you havent been to that one I highly recommend it!

Either way Avi was in a mood and it was kind of a struggle to get a ton of shots of her usual happy self in the pumpkin patch. No, instead she just wanted to run from daddy, but heres what I got.

Now to the fun part!!  Dress up for Halloween! She loved looking at herself in the mirror!

Bonus points to anyone who knows what we are dressed up as… Well Avi and I at least.., Im not sure what [besides beautiful] Jessica was supposed to be 😉

Temecula Bridal Faire

Temecula Wedding Photography will never be the same! So we rocked the Temecula Bridal Faire this past weekend @ Pechanga Resort and Casino. Our first show ever. Going into it we didnt really know what to do but wanted it to be a bit different than your normal table w/ skirt setup. So we brought out our living room.  Couch, table and our backdrop stand with backdrop and canvas prints hanging over. It worked and we got a ton of compliments on its inviting feel. We met a bunch of brides to be and even networked a few cool local Temecula wedding photographers.

All of our promotional pamphlets were done by the super talented Noelle @ Create Yours Truly. Got Stickers done up for cheap over at 1 day wraps and canvas prints by picture it on canvas on the ever impressive Breathing Color Lyve canvas.

It was cool seeing what everyone was up to and there were all kinds of unique vendors for the engaged to check out.  The most ridiculous was a plastic surgeon… yes, thats right! There was a guy there pitching brides to be that in order to look their best they needed to consider a bit of lypo with a breast augmentation. He even went so far as to have breakdowns of exactly just how far out you should schedule your procedure in order to fully recover and look your best. Wow. It was actually kind of sad… though apparently it works, otherwise why would he waste his sunday hangin out at a booth!?

Anyway enough of that.  Here are a few shots of some really awesome Temecula Wedding Photographers in their awesome livingroom!
