Temecula Wedding Photography – Private Estate
Temecula Wedding Photography – Private Estate
Beginning the story on days like this can sometimes be the hardest part. I’m a better photographer than I am a writer. No doubts there. Yet I continue to lay these things out on paper… errrrr in a digital world, for all you word readers to enjoy. So if I have your attention now [as all the picture skimmers move on down the page] I should start by saying that this was one of the most powerful and emotionally charged weddings of 2017.
If you follow our work at all or have found yourself bouncing around on our Temecula Wedding Photography pages you might remember these beautiful people from a recent Temecula Engagement in the hills. It involved bikes which ended in a field during golden hour, recipe for epic photos. I impressed myself at the time with how rad those photos came out and was massively anticipating this day for so many reasons…. I wasnt let down.  After 8 years of rockin these types of things had me vibing on a level I havent in a while.
This Temecula wedding took place at a private estate of a family friend who was kind enough to share a beautiful property perched high up on a mountainside in Del Luz. A perfect weather day, a refreshing coastal breeze. The kind that you dont get down in the valley and only feel up in the hills of fallbrook / de luz. It is soooooooo freakin hot in Temecula anymore, you guys, I swear it feels like Palm Springs! I often pack two shirts to winery weddings. no joke. Not up here. The perks of a De Luz wedding. These type of DIY estate weddings in the hills above town are becoming more and more popular. For good reason too. The traditional temecula winery wedding is not only hot in the summer but are getting more n more expensive! Its quickly become one of the hottest destination wedding zones in southern california, due mostly to the 30+ local wineries in the valley. Considered the “Napa” of Southern California, Temecula wineries [on any given day] are each hosting multiple weddings and events. Its crazy out here now, annnnnd as much as I enjoy a well put together wine country wedding, Im an even bigger fan of VRBO/ estate weddings. My biggest gripe about the typical temecula wedding venue is that most of em shut ya down by 10pm.. but I guess I should save breaking down wedding venues for a different post. What I can say is that didn’t happen here… not a chance! these guys were going late into the night! Music blasting partying on their own terms. There was even some slam dancing and a mosh pit!! Gettin down! The most important point I want to get across here is that private estate weddings right off the bat feel more intimate and personal. Likely because most all of these are being set up and torn down by family and friends and its that personal touch that brings everyone together long before the “I do’s” take place.
I often have couples ask Jess and I during meetings whether or not they should do a first look / reveal. The primary concern is that they don’t want it to take away from the moment that most people place the most emphasis on, which is coming down the aisle. I assure them it wont and from now on I am going to refer them to this day… or perhaps just create a secondary post using Justin and Taylor as an example. There were tears at the first look… annnnnnd the moment Taylor came walking to Justin down that aisle. In fact I’m pretty sure everyone around me was crying when she came out, it was that intense.
The sun smiled down upon them as they took vows and were pronounced “husband and wife” and proceeded to cry tears of joy up again as they walked away, arms locked. Swarmed by family and friends. It was freakin beautiful. everything about it.
Ahhhhhh there were so many stand out moments. One of Justins awesome groomsmen played the guitar and sung for the first dance. Followed by one of the best best man speeches Ive heard in a while. The speech was broadcast via facetime cause he was unable to be there and it was gooooooood, real good. How cool is technology these days!?!? It wasnt even that long ago that something like that wouldn’t even be possible. It actually looked for a minute like it wasnt going to happen cause the projector was having “technical difficulties” . BUT eventually it ended up working out. Glad it did though as it was a highlight of the night and total surprise to Justin.
I’ve been toying around with new shooting styles and fortunately I shot this wedding hybrid!! I got the speech all on video. There are certain parts of the day that just cant be captured by stills. Speeches are one of em so I have been switching over. For this post I’m going to keep it to stills only. Stay tuned though cause in this off season I am going to do something rad with the stills + video. Put it in a nice little package with a pretty bow. Why? cause these guys deserve it.
**Wow. you made it. Im shocked. that was a lot of pics but you hung in there till the end. High five to you! Well this is the part where I lay it down and say that if you were a part of the day and want to use these pics for your own personal self promotion, go for it.. but please be sure to give credit to where it is due. copy and paste the info below into your blog
