Getting Crafty in Palm Springs! – Alcazar Hotel Wedding

Alcazar Hotel Wedding
Here I am again, laughing to myself in the dark of my room as the warm glow of the computer screen singes my eyes. Maybe its the scotch getting, maybe its this song by Conflict hitting rotation on my iTunes while writing this? Maybe its the “Crafty” [I did it again]  word play that I sometimes surprise myself with when coming up with titles of blog entries… [Craft is the couples last name] perhaps all the above combined with going through these photos again has me feeling all warm n tingly inside.  thats the truth… I mean we don’t go to palm springs for just anyone. In fact this Temecula Wedding Photographer doesnt even take Palm Springs weddings anymore in the summer after getting destroyed a few years back with an outdoor 118 degree disaster… lesson learned but that’s another story for another time.

So when Jamie and Morgan got a hold of us and invited us out to the desert in the early spring, BEFORE the massive heat wave, I said “yes please!”  They outlined the details of the day when we met at crush n brew in Temecula. I met a couple that not only had good taste in booze, I learned that these two had a lot more in common with me than meets the eye. Prior punkers >>>  *Cue the foggy haze that preludes a typical flashback sequence in any movie: Yuuup, once upon a time many moons ago I had egg whites in my hair holding up spikes tough enough to withstand any storm of pit I entered. I had studs on my jacket, spikes on my wrist and a chain around my neck. ’82 punk was my world. Drinking, smoking and partying. I was in a hardcore punk band called Angry Youth, it was a pretty big deal in Temecula, so you probably haven’t ever heard of us. ;)   Yeah, I was against the system at 14 years of age, I clearly thought I had it all totally figured out, too young to drive I was getting rides to play shows at showcase theater in Corona by my parents. Kids of the black hole was my anthem… or so I thought. It turns out I wasnt the only one in this rebellious haze. Jamie had the same roots… yet at some point you just grow up. Walking around these days you bump into one of em [prior punkers] and you would never know it by looking at em.  But dig a little deeper and you’ll see these are the guys you wanna get to know and hang out with.

Ahh great trip down memory lane there. Sorry I lost you. back to the wedding between a punker and his flame from high school. We headed to the desert for an awesome wedding at the Alcazar Hotel. They rented the whole place out and kicked us down with a room. We rocked the party, I hit the after party and ended up wandering the buzzing streets until the bars closed at 2am. It was some really good times.

Hi! What a great wedding you captured! Question for you - my fiance and I are considering this venue for our wedding and we were curious if the set up of the 4 planted trees got in the way of yourself as a photographer or the guests during the actual ceremony itself? Your shot is cropped in so I couldn't tell on my own. thanks!

with the way the aisle was set up, trees were not an issue, we simply cross shot from the sides
