Temecula Wedding Photographer rocks The Skirball Center !!

Well this fabulous LA wedding at the Skirball Center was one of surprise… for me anyway. If you’d have asked me what my plans for the day were 24 hours prior to this wedding I’d have told you I was taking my kids to Disneyland. lol.  And I definitely wasnt planning on driving up to LA to rock a wedding… wasnt even a thought in my mind until less than 12 hours before game time. I subscribe to the belief that things happen for a reason. I wouldn’t say EVERYTHING happens for a reason… cause lets face it, in life, there really are no absolutes [always & never]  but for the most part I can find a reason for things playing out the way they do. Its a connect the dots backwards kind of thing, Steve Jobs said it best:

“Again, you can’t connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust in something – your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever. Because believing that the dots will connect down the road will give you the confidence to follow your heart even when it leads you off the well worn path; and that will make all the difference….”

It goes on to say a bunch more inspiring things, so if you heard it before, google it or hit up YouTube.Anyhow.. long and short is that I believe in this. I’ve had way too many connect the dots moments not to … and in the right frame of mind it makes me a “Yes” man. Life hands out opportunity constantly and being open to these opportunities are what shape our lives. Expanding on that thought > I’ve had so many couples that met on chance… to the point where had they not gone out that night on a whim, or spilled their drink, or forgotten their purse, or some other chance moment not presented itself the end result would have different. Connecting the dots backwards now it all makes sense it played out the way it did.But back to my original direction on the post… it was the night before this wedding,  my friend Ryan [who just so happens to be another kick ass wedding photographer in Temecula]  had a last minute cancellation from his 2nd shooter. Needless to say he was freaking out a little and in the panic to find a substitute photographer for the day, Ryan went to Craigslist, Google, Facebook,  Twitter… and every avenue he could think of on short notice. Nothing was panning out. So he called me, at a loss, asking me what I would do if I was him. He must’ve assumed I was already working since he didnt even ask me.  Except… this time I wasnt.  Sure, it wasnt how I had planned on spending my one weekend off during the summer… but I wanted to help out and am always down for a wedding partayyy! So I signed up for the trip up to LA to the fabulous Skirball Center to be a last minute shooter for my friend. Im glad I did. I met a rad couple both appreciative and deserving of my time that day. I had a great time hanging with J and his guys and turned out awesome photos of moments that needed to be captured… and when the next opportunity presents itself, I’ll again be ready… just keep paving the road ahead so that the dots connect backwards.
