Smog Shoppe Wedding, Los Angeles

Temecula Wedding Photographers rock a wedding at the Smog Shoppe!!

Got some new n shiny Smog Shoppe Wedding photos up on the blog today!! Once a year we have the privilege of being asked to tell a story at my favorite wedding venue in Los Angeles, the Smog Shoppe. Annnnnnd once again, it ended up being one of the major highlights of my year. I’m not exactly sure how Lauren and Walter found us. I’d like to think it was divine intervention. Like the universe just directed them straight to us because it knew we needed them in our life. Generously kind and authentic beings that fully entrusted us to do our thing on the biggest day of their new life together… cant ask for more than that.  At the time it all went down I knew it was special but it wasn’t until now, months later that it really all set it. I mean, I edited the wedding and was smiling the whole time.. which is always a good thing. But I think that in reviewing these photos on the heels of one of the most therapeutic and enlightening experiences I’ve ever creatively had this past weekend [at the Yeah Field Trip] that I gained a whole new appreciation of just what we do. The appreciation I have with being entrusted with this privilege is immeasurable. The status of Wingman/Wingwoman can be something that can be taken for granted 7 years in… I hate to say it.. but its true. Anything [when you do it enough] can be a routine. I bet the guy at the morgue the first time he cuts into a body is taken back by it… maybe weeps a bit realizing his own mortality… but day in and day out builds up a tolerance to it, no doubt. He would have to.  It takes stepping back and seeing things for what they truly are to really put it all in perspective. These thoughts I have are not alone my own… yet now, resonating within me, they are definitely a personal truth.

Wedding Photography. Its a big deal. The people chosen to stand along side this couple today are family, dear friends. They have been there in the lives of these two through thick and thin. Life and Death. Joy and sadness. So many stories have led up to this day and gotten them here. We all have a life story, and a day like today is one of the monumental ones. Vows are taken, till death do us part… and when things go according to plan that means today is day 1  of an amazing chapter in the life story. Family is made, life takes a whole new journey and ultimately one day they will all have to say goodbye to one another as death forces a new chapter in life. One day these photos we took will have so much more meaning and importance than we even realized. This day of celebration may even get them through  times of sorrow. It was this realization that had me looking at these photos today as I was preparing the blog than got me a little choked up. I have no idea where this story takes these two, but I was allowed the most amazing role in the day that anyone could be given and we photographed the day true to them, shooting from the heart, an honest perspective… and the moments that played out were just beautiful. There were so many. Going through it again makes my heart happy. Hold on to the feeling, I am fulfilled.

I knew it the first time we met and our LA art district engagement photo session. That was so much fun with so many layers of cool, I seriously could not wait for the wedding day. You both have so many awesome adventures awaiting ya in your new life together and I’m truly looking forward to the day when our paths cross again.
