Temecula Wedding Photographers Rock A Vintage Estate Wedding in Los Angeles!

Fresh new Los Angeles Estate wedding up on the blog today… and its a good one!! I mean, just LOOK at this shot above!!   Are you freakin kidding me!?!? Yeah…, NOW I wanna get married all over again just so I can do that!! How fun does it look to get pelted lavender and rose petals!? Ahhhhh man, these two sure did deserve it ;-)  Elaine n Fletcher, you guys are the best. Ya’ll did it right and you make this look good.  I just went through all the pics again from start to finish and was smiling the whole time. It was actually VERY difficult to pick favorites and keep this concise cause it was that good.  And its not like it went off without a hitch either. There sure were some challenges. From the crazy wind blowing everything your reception around to the power going out and light drizzle in the darkness… lol   Yeah, there were definitely punches being thrown at ya. But you are the type of people that roll with em and you make the best out of it… not just that, you embraced it as part of the day and smiled with it and in turn it made things all the more memorable. It was your day and perfect no matter what.

Now before I get too far along… I do want to come back to that amazing moment above. The one where they got announced and had guests firing on them with the ammunition they left laying around… cause, a lot of people try this. It rarely pulls off like this. There are a few reasons for that and the first is that most of the time nobody even sees the stuff or knows about it when they roll up to the wedding ceremony. Somehow they skip the table of ammunition and go right to their seats. The other reason being that even if the guests are armed… its not THIS good!!  those cheap little wedding bubble blower sticks from OTC suck. No candy coating it. You cant go cheap like that. If bubbles are your thing then you need to throw down on bubble guns and hope for people sitting on your ceremony aisles ready to blast you with it. Even still bubbles can be unreliable on windy days.  BUT 1lb lavender packs and rose petals!?  that works real niiiiiiiiice!! Plus a few savage people lining your aisle who are ruthless enough to really let you have it from point blank range!!! YEAH!! That’s the difference between so/so and epic!  So, if you are reading this and are planning your wedding still, take a couple notes on what I just said. Make your ceremony exit one to remember :)

Now moving on… There are so many things I can [and will] say about this wedding cause it deserves that glory. The wedding took place at a fabulous estate in the hills of Los Angeles. The property itself was stunning and played a beautiful backdrop for the day. Elaine’s dress is absolutely stunning, as is she. Fletcher is no stranger to suiting up. Law school and years in the courtroom have done him well cause he definitely knows how to rock a badass suit.. wouldnt wanna fall short of mentioning the dude looked damn good as well.  All the details were in place, including vintage furniture rentals, hand [feather quill] written place cards, beautiful flowers in complimentary pastels, an open bar with delicious signature cocktails and one of the better cakes I can remember eating. There were tears at the first look and scattered all throughout the day, plus, we got to kick it with a group of genuinely wonderful people. Im not sure what ya’ll do for work but Im pretty sure I have the best job ever. I know I’ve said it plenty but its true. New people, new party… and not just any party, weddings are the best kind of party. Ear to ear grins + tears of joy. But ya know, all this can be seen in the photos below. So lets move on. Just one last thing and I’m through

***I did something a bit different here on this one. I asked Elaine to give me a small write up of highlights for her on the day/night.  Cause that’s what really counts ya know?  Not my rambling on about my thoughts on the place. You already get to see the day through my eyes in the photos below… so should you really have to endure my words too??? lol    Nah, this is wayyy better.  From the perspective of our beautiful bride there are a couple stand out moments and details which made the day so special and memorable. I’ve gone and slipped them in the sequence of pics throughout the day to not only break things up but add imagery to support her words. So as you scroll through, if you see some text, be sure to check it out ;)

“Fletcher’s father, a professor of 18th century British literature, once taught himself how to “forge” Jane Austen’s handwriting for a course he was teaching in which all of the students’ composition assignments had to be written by hand with quills.  He has perfected his skill over the years, and we leapt at the opportunity to feature his work in our wedding.  In addition to hand-addressing all of our invitations, he hand-wrote each guest’s name card and our table names, which we named after the six cities that we have lived in together across the globe.”

“My favorite moment was right before we were announced as the new Mr. & Mrs., just after cocktail hour as our guests were taking their seats for dinner.   We had a moment with just the two of us at the top of the grand outdoor staircase, gazing out at our beloved guests who had traveled from all across the world to celebrate with us.  It was such a proud and intimate moment for us to share right at golden hour as the sun was about to set and our awesome DJ Travis Holcombe was soundtracking the moment to perfection.”

“Just as the plates were being cleared from dinner a light mist began to fall and suddenly all the lights went out.  (We found out later we had blown our generator.)  But the music was running from a backup generator, so we never missed a beat, and our photographers quickly broke out a couple of spotlights to illuminate the dance floor.  It naturally caused the crowd to migrate to the dance floor and it actually created some awesome romantic visuals for our cake cutting and first dance.   Then, right on cue, the lights came back on and the mist let up, almost like we had planned it.  Anyway, if your wedding doesn’t have at least one near-catastrophe, you might be doing something wrong!”

This shot above is how I want to remember ending the night. Im sure I took a few more after this but it was one of the last and it really is the one that means the most. These two, in their own world, under our spotlight getting drizzled on. It was perfect.

Huge shout outs and THANKS!!! to everyone that made the day/night so amazing!
