Destination Wedding Photographer | New Haven Wedding

As I went back through the photos from the day and tried my best to narrow it down to a manageable amount to put into a blog post, [so as not to totally spew photos all over the place/ overwhelm any of you viewers] it was about that point that I realized again just how freakin truly amazing our trip back east to New Haven, Connecticut was. Im embarrassed at just how long it took me to post these up… as I am with all the weddings from the fall. But even more now, I am excited to get in and start sharing what the funk we have been up to.

Without a doubt its been a great off season and I am so thankful I got to spend a ton of time with the family and friends. My priorities were in check and I shelved things for a while and now, slowly, I will leak out one fantastic party after another… cause I’m seriously sitting on dozens of awesome celebrations of fabulous couples.

This was no exception. In fact, this just could be my most anticipated wedding of 2013 for a number of reasons. There is nothing better than doing something new. Being a wedding photographer in southern california is awesome. The weather is almost always kick ass. The people are chill. Its a new party/ new people every weekend, everyone is in a great mood and I get the pleasure of being dropped right into the center of it to tell the story. That is the rad part. Now I dont know what you do for work, but my work environment is pretty awesome and when I roll into a grooms room and he is getting ready and offers me a glass of scotch, Im going to take it. Thats right, the perks of wedding photography, I am offered drinks while on the job…. now its critical to be disciplined with this power but I consider it rude to turn down such an offering when [in fact] it also serves as creative juice for my artistic brain. But all that aside we rolled into the party of parties this weekend in unfamiliar territory with familiar faces [I just love seeing former brides and grooms as weddings!!]

It also happened to be Jess and my 5th anniversary weekend. I know what you are thinking  [you made your wife work on her anniversary!!? you have some nerve! ]  but hold on… sure it seems rude at first, but its all in how you look at it. For one, my “work” isnt really work. What I did was score us a fabulous vacation to the east coast, away from our 2 kids for 5 days, with all expenses paid, and for 8 hours in there [within the 5 day vacation]  we picked up our cameras and partied with a group of really awesome people.  Now that I put it like that I dont seem like such a bad guy after all now do I ??   :)

Well, we couldnt have picked a better way to spend celebrating 5 years! We had a blast and got some really awesome pictures. Of course we cant take the credit for how rad these came out. That is credit is all Chris and Jessica, our fabulous bride and groom. To start, they were awesome enough to invite us out to photograph their big day. Not only that but they picked an awesome setting and included dozens upon dozens of really awesome people! To all of you we met, danced, drank and partied with… I hope our paths cross again!  Twas a really, really, really, good time!

Chris and Jessica, Thank you for entrusting your day to us. Thanks for he awesome adventure! Thanks for being so freakin fabulous! We wish you a life of love and laughter together and look forward to seeing your smiling faces again someday soon!

You left me absolutely speechless. I was confident you two were going to be great and we would have a lot of fun; you greatly exceeded all expectations. You were an integral part of what our day epic. I really can't say enough about you two. Your work stands for itself, your energy is unmatched and as husband & wife you are truly inspirational. The fact you came cross country and during your anniversary weekend is absolutely awesome. I am sure we will see you soon, and just know you always have a place to crash and few rounds waiting for you when in New England.
