Pregnancy photography in Temecula

So before I get started I just wanna say… I love my “job”!  and its just too cool seeing families begin. Yeah, waaaaaay back when we were first getting this wedding photography business started up we had the fortune of crossing paths with the Petrilles. I liked em right off the bat. A warm and genuine couple, the kind I’d hang with if we lived close by. Ashley and Tony entrusted in us to photograph their wedding [probably one of our FIRST paying gigs]. <– I actually wanted to confirm this so I just went back into old emails and am still laughing. Turns out that this literally was our first paid gig towards the end of ’09. With a couple of 40D’s back then, for $600 we did the engagement photos at balboa in San Diego + Jess and I shot the wedding [8hrs] w/ all photos to disk. Even as good a deal as it was and as entrusting as Ashley is she goes on to ask for references at the end of the email ;) savvy girl. lol. We saw the Petrilles at a number of weddings over the years [thanks for referring us your friends!] and always had a great time.

So it was awesome news when Ashley told us she was pregnant! Love it when one of our family of brides n grooms pops in with the awesome news that the family is growing. Ashley wanted to do pics and decided to celebrate the arrival of this amazing soul into the world by booking our newly created First Year Collection. This pregnancy photo shoot took place out in the good ol Temecula Wine Country. Ashley said she really liked the set we did recently at Lake Skinner so we decided to start the day off there and end it in a local field. She brought in a few ideas and outfits and we spent the day taking pics, laughing and catching up on life. We tried not to scare these two too much and kept any horror stories of poop n vomit from our early parenthood experiences to a minimum ;)

Thanks for everything Petrille family! Thanks for your love and support… for believing in us when we were first getting started and entrusting in us now. We are looking forward to spending lots more time with you 3 in the future! Looking forward to the arrival of Colton any day now.

Temecula Wedding Photographer @ Humphreys Estate [preview]

Ohhhhhh I just cant wait to get into this one. Seriously. I think we took something ridiculous like 4K photos over the day, its going to be a lot to sort through. Congrat Matt and Priscila!  It was such a great wedding at the Humphreys Estate this past weekend. Ever been there before? I hadn’t. 20 acres of awesomeness I never knew existed: beautiful ceremony site tucked away within a lush environment that could be doubled for botanical gardens. Train tracks run around the place and I believe there is a train running [though we didnt see it that day], immaculately landscaped paths run almost in a maze across the property, I got lost a few times. Multiple pools, gardens, peacocks wandering freely, hedge maze, quite literally a man cave that goes underground… and endless photographic opportunities. A Temecula wedding photographers dream! It felt like I had been transported to some rare and exotic location and when it was all said and done it was less than 10 minutes from our house ;)  I think the award for the coolest wedding venue in Temecula was given away to the Condors Nest Ranch in 2011 [or maybe it was Temecula Farmhouse since CNR is not technically in Temecula]. Well, either way… different feel altogether but Humphreys tops the Condors Nest & Temecula Farmhouse without any doubt. If you happened across this post and you are looking for the BEST place to get married in Temecula then I can’t urge you enough to get out to Humphreys Estate and walk the grounds and see what all the hype is about. Then call us to see if your date is available… cause I REALLY want to get back out :) Hands down the best wedding venue in Temecula.

As much as I wish I could drop the whole photo post up now, I cant… its only been a couple days since the wedding and we got lots to do before a final post up. This is just a quickie preview.

TEMECULA WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY – PONTE WINERY WEDDING [preview]

Random fact #1: Karla and Hesh are definitely the coolest scientists you ever met! Stunning and charismatic, you may just remember them from the really sweet beach cruiser engagement photos I posted up not all that long ago. Heres a snap from their Temecula wedding which we photographed yesterday in beautiful Wine Country. The ceremony and after party [reception] took place at Ponte Winery. This is my 2nd time there, such a rad place. They really did a great job and everything went sooo smoothly. Random fact #2: Karla gets really nervous in front of the camera. You wouldnt know it cause it makes her give off giggles and big smiles, so its a good kind of neverous. This shot is a straight forward portrait of them… and while I could have gotten all artsy and posted up a single pic that was all abstract I chose not to. Why?? cause when I saw this it made me smile back… and this shot is totally these guys. I love it.

Ch- ch- ch- ch- changes!

So its been a big year so far for us! Little over 2 years in and we are getting more and more plugged in to wedding photography in Temecula. Shooting more locally and still getting tossed rad venues outside the local area. Not quite yet destination wedding photographers just yet but we are working on it. ;]  Lots of changes personally and professionally and as this wedding season kicks into full speed we welcome in our new blog and rebrand. It was time to clean it up a little, simplify things, let the pictures do the talking with less distraction. As you may [or may not] have noticed we chopped our name too. “Your Inner Song” is our philosophy behind the camera. Putting our subject at ease. Casually hanging out and joking around… comfortable enough to be unknowingly vulnerable and letting the inner child out. We’ll pull em out if we need to by tossing energy out and getting it back, making sure the shutter goes click as we smile from behind the camera. It’s that simple really. The moment I feel something I push the button. As a photographer I’ve been told that timing cant be taught… and to treat the camera like a mirror. A reflection of the self. It makes sense, if I’m having fun laughing and smiling then how in the heck are you not gonna be doing that back!?  So while [ultimately] its “Your” Inner Song that Im after when snapping away, photography is my creative outlet.. it fulfills me…  it’s my Inner Song as well. And when we get both these things working simultaneously good things happen.

Im actually really excited on many levels.

A: To be able to verbalize what it is Ive known and felt since starting this wedding photography business

B: It feels like this new change embodies the philosophy completely, the name, the design.. simplified. The emphasis on the photos. So while things are changing around here I am confident its for the better and I cant wait to see what these next series of changes bring about for us!

Laguna Cliffs Resort Wedding Photography – Laguna Beach Photographer [preview]

Got the chance to photograph a beautiful private wedding ceremony at the Laguna Cliffs Resort in Dana Point this weekend. The weather was a little dicey in the AM but by the time the ceremony rolled around there wasnt a cloud in the sky and the sun smiled down on all. Days like this solidify why being a wedding photographer in southern california this time of year totally rules. They couldnt have asked for a better day to get married.. and I, a better day to have a camera in my hand. It was an intimate setting for under 50 guests and these two are genuinely adored. Thanks Ashleigh and Taylor for having me, it was so refreshing. Have an awesome honeymoon in New Zealand!

Been sorting through this wedding today, heres a pic to go with the words.

Chapman Chapel Wedding – Orange County Wedding Photographer

// Temecula Wedding Photographers in Orange County //

A great review from a bride n groom are a highlight of being a wedding photographer.  Its pretty much a given that they are going to have an awesome night… its their wedding night. But a chance to be a part of that experience and later turning over a perspective of their day that gets the nod feels good.  Even better than an awesome review is a referral… cause nothing says “these guy rock!” more than telling your friends. Plus you get to bump into each other and hang out again at your friends wedding \m/   Well this wedding was long anticipated for us not only cause the couple name ALSO happened to be Justin and Jessica… but we had met them 2 times before at friends’ weddings and every time we saw em they [and we] were having a good time! And when it comes to a wedding lets be honest… coverage is huge… without solid photography or videography of your big day what do you have left?  Mental pictures…  and if your day was anything like mine those not only blend into each other a bit but after a while you kinda forget things [until you see the pics or video again].

**RAndom thought – Get photography,  its a must. Get Video too. There is no such thing as too much documentation of a day that goes by so fast it can seem like a blur in the end. Sure random highlights will stand out in your mind but solid coverage will allow you to “live” it all over… and never forget. If you are moved by what we do, great! If you find someone else thats awesome too!! Just find someone who takes pictures you like, not only that find someone who you click with and can have a good time with. It makes all the difference in the level of shots you get. And if your desired photographer is out of your budget thats fine too… prioritize what is MOST important to you and try and cut back on area that may not be as critical. Hey, You could have the most EXPENSIVE flowers and cake… but without photography how are you going to remember all that stuff anyway? put your money to work for you. A skilled photographer can make minimalist decor and details seem amazing.

Ok! done with all that! So Justin and Jessica had us as observers of their day. They got married at the historic Chapman Chapel in Orange County. We rocked it and loved every moment of it. The pictures are below. Enjoy!
